What is the symptothermal method?
The symptothermal method is based on evaluating at least two body signals to determine the fertile days in the cycle. Any woman who is willing to document her body signals daily can learn this method.
To apply the method, only a basal thermometer that measures to two decimal places is needed.
The symptothermal method determines the fertile days of the female menstrual cycle by evaluating changes in basal temperature and cervical mucus or the cervix.
How do you best get started with the Ovy App?
Ideally, you should start using the Ovy App on the first day of your period, which is the first day of your cycle, but you can also begin on any day of your cycle. Start by downloading the Ovy App from the Apple or Google Play Store. After registering, the Ovy App will ask for relevant data to calculate your first cycle.
Who is the Ovy App suitable for?
The Ovy App and the Ovy Bluetooth Basal Thermometer are suitable for women of reproductive age who wish to conceive and for women who want to track their cycle* in detail. The self-learning algorithm is based on the scientifically researched symptothermal method.
Who is the Ovy App not suitable for?
The Ovy App is not designed for you if you are under 18 years old or if you have irregular cycles. It is also not suitable for women who have an irregular lifestyle—such as those caused by shift work—and cannot ensure daily monitoring and documentation of their body signals.
Do you need a basal thermometer to use the Ovy App?
The fertile days of the female menstrual cycle are determined using the symptothermal method with the help of the Ovy App. This involves evaluating changes in basal temperature and cervical mucus or the cervix.
